"Kalashnikov" intended the speedboat for special duty at the Russian Federal National Guard Troops Service
On May 15, JSC Shipyard "Vympel", which is part of the "Kalashnikov" Concern, held a ceremony of launching the first special purpose speedboat of the project "Grachonok" for the Federal National Guard Troops Service. The ceremony was attended by the Head of Directorate of Protection of Objects in the Waters of the Main Guard Directorate of Russian Federal National Guard Troops Service, rear admiral Andrey Shatayev and CEO of JSC Shipyard "Vympel" Oleg Belkov.
In 2017, the Shipyard "Vympel" and the Russian Federal National Guard Troops Service signed a contract on the construction of four vessels for this project. The speedboat was intended for fighting diversionary-terrorist forces in water areas and nearby mooring sites. Modern equipment and excellent navigable features help the speedboat perform a wide spectrum of tasks, which are normally intended for vessels of a higher rank.
Four speedboats of special purpose should be delivered to the customer in 2019. They will serve in the Black Sea.
